Life goes on for the Dashing family. Anne and Brandon are married and receive a new appointment. Brandon is assigned to work on a national project but he is given permission to work out of territorial headquarters as a cadet-spouse with his rank of Captain while Anne is a cadet at the training school which is in the same city.
Ellen and Ted decide to wait to get married until they have finished their two year seminary for officers at the training college. They are very conscientious cadets as session mates. The Monday after commissioning, they marry as well and are appointed to the Longbourn Citadel which is the home corps of Jennings’ good friends, the Bennetts.
The Ferris family comes to terms with the new member that has been forcibly added with much persistence and affection. Liz and Robert start their own family of little Ferris’. Robert in time becomes the Corps Sergeant Major of the Norland Park corps with Liz at his side at the Community Care Secretary.
Finally Lila gives up on David and so then David ultimately notices her. So Lila returns to noticing David and eventually ends up trying out samples at the bakery for her own cake.
Mrs. Dashing develops a little love interest of her own with Mr. Woodhouse even if it takes him awhile to move on his own impulse of mutual affection for her.
Jennings is ever the same as always while a good friend and mentor for Maggie throughout her teens and beyond into adulthood.
The Middletons at last become divisional commanders who are well respected by their peers for their pastoral skills and compassion as well as business sense.
John and Fannie Dashing and are appointed to a new program at Mansfield Park that will be transitioned into a large Kroc Center. It ends up being a good thing for everyone in the community.
Willoughby marries Sophie Grey but there is more to come with that story. They soldier at Bath Temple along with their good friends, the Elliots, during the summer months.
However the great news is that Julie succeeds in life and is quite remarkable.
So ends the story of “Crest & Shield”. . . or perhaps not.
